Safety, respect & consent

Flourish Projects Incorporated is committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment for everyone who engages with our community. We believe that all people have the right to feel safe, seen, and respected.

Sexual abuse, harassment, or misconduct of any kind is not tolerated. We are dedicated to preventing harm, responding appropriately when issues arise, and supporting those affected.

Who This Applies To

This policy applies to everyone involved with Flourish Projects Incorporated, including members, volunteers, facilitators, and anyone attending our programs or events.

What We Mean by Sexual Abuse

Sexual abuse includes any unwanted sexual attention or behaviour. This may involve sexual advances, requests for sexual favours, or verbal, non-verbal, or physical behaviour of a sexual nature that makes someone feel uncomfortable, unsafe, or disrespected.

How to Report an Incident

If you experience or witness sexual abuse at any Flourish Projects Incorporated event, we encourage you to report it as soon as you feel able. At the World Peace Festival, reports can be made directly to the Concierge Team or Festival Organisers.

You may also report an incident by contacting the Concierge Team directly, with any follow-up correspondence sent via email to:
thecompassiontemple@gmail.com. You will be listened to and treated with care and respect.

What Happens Next

All reports are taken seriously. Flourish Projects Incorporated will review and investigate reported incidents with fairness and care.

Where a breach of this policy is found, appropriate action will be taken. This may include restrictions on participation or, in serious cases, a permanent ban from all Flourish Projects Incorporated activities.

Confidentiality

We aim to handle all reports as confidentially as possible. However, there may be situations where information needs to be shared to protect the safety and wellbeing of individuals or to meet legal requirements.

Protection from Retaliation

No one will be penalised for speaking up or participating in an investigation. Retaliation of any kind is not acceptable and will be treated as a serious breach of this policy.

Prevention and Education

We are committed to ongoing learning and prevention. Regular training and awareness activities will be offered to members and volunteers, covering respectful behaviour, consent, reporting pathways, and the consequences of misconduct.

Sexual Abuse Support & Response

If an incident is reported, a Festival Organiser or their delegates may:

  • Provide a place of safety

  • Offer crisis support

  • Explain available options

  • Share information about support services after the festival.

Wherever possible, we will provide gender-appropriate support, as defined by the person seeking help.

The Festival Organisers will not:

  • Share your information with third parties (including police) without your consent unless mandatory reporting obligations apply.

  • Ask you to give detailed statements or recount the event repeatedly

You may be asked to:

  • Briefly state the nature of the incident

  • Describe or identify the person involved, if possible
